These are groundbreaking health innovations, cutting-edge technologies, and transformative solutions shaping the future of public health in Malawi and beyond. This category showcases innovative approaches, tools, and technologies that have the potential to revolutionize health service delivery.
Innovation Submission Structure
All innovation submissions must include the following components with clear descriptions:
1 Name of the Technology/Innovation (25 words maximum)
The name should be short, descriptive, and distinctive. Avoid jargons or acronyms unless commonly understood. You can include a tagline or subtitle that describes its core function or benefit.
Naming Guidelines:
- • Keep it memorable and easy to pronounce
- • Reflect the innovation's purpose or benefit
- • Consider including a brief descriptive tagline
- • Avoid technical jargon that general audiences won't understand
2 Inventors/Innovators
Full names and affiliations of individuals or organizations involved in developing the technology. Include their roles in the innovation process and any relevant credentials or expertise.
3 Brief Description of the Technology
Clear, non-technical summary of the components/features of the technology, how it works and what problem it addresses.
Description should include:
- • What the technology does (functionality)
- • How it works (mechanism/process)
- • What problem it solves
- • Key features and benefits
- • Target users or applications
4 Pictures/Video Link
Provide 1–3 high-quality images of the technology and/or a 2-minute video demonstration.
Visual Requirements:
- • High-resolution images (minimum 1024x768 pixels)
- • Show the technology in use or demonstration
- • Video should be maximum 2 minutes
- • Include clear narration or subtitles for videos
- • Provide accessible hosting links (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
5 Impact of the Technology/Innovation
Include target beneficiaries, estimated number of users/households/clinics expected to be reached and/or evidence of communities benefitting from it. Demonstrate the real-world impact and potential scale.
