National Health Research Agenda II
Malawi developed its National Health Research Agenda II (2023 – 2030) with an overall goal to guide researchers, policy makers, program implementers, academic institutions, health development partners, and other stakeholders on health research priorities for Malawi.
The NHRA II contributes to the improvement of mortality indicators and the reduction of disease burden in Malawi. The NHRA II is aligned to the Health sector strategic plan III 2023-2030, whose goal is to improve the health status of all Malawians and increase client satisfaction and financial risk protection towards the attainment of Universal Health Coverage.
The HSSPIII calls on all partners to work together to harness science, technology, and broader knowledge to produce research-based evidence and inform policy and service delivery.

Conference Coordination
The Annual Conference is coordinated by the PHIM Research Division and Clinical Research Education and Management Services (CREAMS). This collaborative effort involves key partners including the Health Economics and Policy Unit (HEPU), The National AIDS Commission (NAC), WHO, UNC Project, Kamuzu Central Hospital, Partners in Hope (PIH), Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Trust (MLW), Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Training Research Unit of Excellence (TRUE), and many other valued organizations.
Priority: Abstracts on research and programmes that demonstrate results from NHRA II implementation and enhance the translation of research findings into policy and practice will be prioritised.
